Reflexology

.

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology, an ancient therapy which has been practised for over 5000 years.
It is a technique that applies pressure to your feet to bring about a state of relaxation and helps the body’s own healing process. It works in a similar way to acupressure and acupuncture and is based on the theory that certain points on the feet correspond to different areas of the body. By pressing and massaging these points it stimulates energy pathways and removes blockages. This helps energy to flow freely again and restore balance to the body.

How can Reflexology help?

“The body contains the inherent ability and intelligence to heal itself provided it is given the opportunity to do so.” Hippocrates, 460-370 BC.
In today’s pace of life, it’s not always easy to take time out for self-care which can mean the autonomic nervous system is constantly engaged. This can negatively affect the body physically as well as emotionally, leading to a weakened immune system and illnesses developing.
Reflexology can decrease emotional stress and restore feelings of emotional well-being by allowing you to experience a deep state of relaxation. Reflexology also helps initiate the body to work from the parasympathetic nervous system, which can initiate the body’s natural healing response.
